Go live safely — the pre-stream checklist

Outcome: a stream-safe workspace with OBS under in-app control. Time: under two minutes once configured.

  • OBS Studio 28+ with its WebSocket server enabled and the password saved in Settings → Streaming (setup).
  • A “Privacy” (BRB) scene in OBS, selected as the privacy scene in Settings → Streaming.
  1. Enter Streaming Mode. Click the mode pill in the top bar (it reads Vibe Code Mode when off). It turns red: ● Streaming Mode.
  2. Confirm you’re marked live. Red frame around the app, red pill, ● Streaming Mode badge bottom-center. If you can see those, your viewers-to-be are protected by redaction already.
  3. Confirm OBS is connected. With auto-connect on, the OBS control strip appears above the command bar (scene selector, mic, Go Live, Record). No strip? Open Settings → Streaming and hit Connect.
  4. Check your streaming layout. Your remembered stream layout loaded automatically; tidy if you’ve been rearranging.
  5. Go live from the strip. Click Go Live (or start the stream in OBS — the strip mirrors it either way).
  • Mute your mic from the strip (mic button — red when muted).
  • Opening any key-bearing surface (Voice/Agents/License settings, Setup wizard) automatically jumps OBS to your privacy scene, and back when you close it.
  • Copying something secret-shaped pops a warning toast.

Stop the stream from the strip, then click the red pill — Vibe Code Mode restores your exact working layout, un-masks text, and disconnects OBS.
